Childhood on my mind

I 'd like to share something that happened to me in my childhood. My parents let me learn drawing while I was about seven to ten years old. I developed an interest in drawing. I was so lucky I could obtain the support from my family then. My parents always encouraged me to keep on drawing and they often praised my works. The encouragement I received from my parents reminds me of the encouragement I got from my teachers. There were so many teachers who encouraged me when I was a vocational school student. All in all, through their encouragement, I never get tired of drawing and I feel good when I do it.

Another example, which is contrary to what I have said so far, is my experience of being a mathematics teacher's aid. The job was originally a hobby, which I did for fun; however, it became an unhappy experience. Well, one of my teachers asked me, "How can you be a mathematics teacher's aid when you've got such disappointing grades?" The question was severely discouraging to me so I lost all my confidence in math. Maybe things would have been different had the teacher been more encouraging instead of just the opposite.
